The Flight of Mihail Tikov, "Sofiamed", with Delyan Peevski's Airplane
Is the fulfillment of the "American Dream" possible in Bulgaria? This national ethos of the USA, embodying the idea that every individual can achieve prosperity, success and social mobility through hard work, freedom and determination, in Bulgaria has degenerated in a bay-Ganyo style - Here everything is achieved through abuse, arrogance... and most importantly - with political patronage.
A typical example - the rise of an ordinary doctor, with not particularly high professional and educational qualifications /a graduate of the medical faculty in Pazardzhik/. Mihail Tikov started a business in healthcare in collaboration with the local authorities in Pazardzhik. During the time of Dr. Ivan Kolchakov as mayor /1999 - 2003/, regional governor, member of parliament, etc., the entire municipal privatization was served to Tikov on a silver platter - hospitals, transport, markets, hotels... everything... At the moment Ivan Kolchakov is a member of the management of Tikov's hospitals "Sofiamed" and "Zdrave" - Pazardzhik with a huge salary. Under another mayor of Pazardzhik, Todor Popov /2007-2023/, Tikov wins all public procurement contracts... - The wife of the former mayor now lives in a luxury apartment in a gated complex with a swimming pool, owned by Mihail Tikov...
Another interesting character from the orbit of Mihail Tikov is Dr. Boyko Penkov, the "Eternal Latch" in healthcare, repeatedly appointed as deputy minister, head of the NHIF and executive director of "Sofiamed", close to Delyan Peevski... During his time, Tikov's hospitals received the largest increases in their budgets, many times exceeding those of Pirogov, MMA, "St. George", "St. Anna"... And despite all the "underfunding of our health system" Tikov buys hospitals, hotels, land, builds skyscrapers, and everything is paid "in cash", without bank lending. An absolute phenomenon. Where do the billions come from? - Naturally, from the NHIF, from our money, which in turn is not enough for young doctors, specializing doctors, nurses... And they, the poor things, protest in front of the Ministry of Healthcare, instead of going to "Tsarigradsko Shose" in front of IPC "Rodina", where Tikov and Delyan Peevski are erecting skyscrapers, 250,000 sq.m. of built-up area.
The connection between Tikov and Peevski dates back to the distant year 2012. At that time, anti-mafia officers from the GD BOP raided the "Hebar" hotel in Pazardzhik, where the offices of Mihail Tikov are located. They investigated him for abuses with the Health Fund. At that time Tikov and Peevski, who is a member of parliament from Pazardzhik, had a falling out over the privatization of the municipal hospital in Peshtera. A sudden reconciliation follows, Tikov's hospitals become the biggest advertiser in Peevski's media and he buys IPC "Rodina" from him in cash for 45 million. Now they are building skyscrapers...
At the opening of "Sofiamed", May 9, 2012, an official guest was Desislava Atanasova in her capacity as Minister of Healthcare. After that, the three of them, with Tikov and Peevski, take off in the same airplane to billion-high heights...
And the Health KATSA /a bottomless pit/ swells every year by one billion from our money... Vote, deputies... to build skyscrapers! And let us sing those sad, slavish songs: "the money for health is never enough, and our poor and sick people are dying..."
Such is the so-called "American Dream" in Bulgaria - in our own way - the "OLIGARCHIC MODEL", which Prime Minister Rumen Radev will dismantle... But WHEN?
